End-User Modifiability (EUM)

Current Definition
Mechanisms allowing users of all levels of technical competence to make substantial modifications to a system. EUM is necessary for design environment seeds to evolve. EUM systems enable a mode of design called "design in use", in which users design their systems as they use them. Systems that explore EUM include Modifier and Visual Agentalk.
